My Review: This is such a cute story and not many people know that there is more than one verse to this song. This is a beginner song for learning instruments so when student begin to learn to play an instrument, they will happy since they can play a real song. This book offers such a soothing take on the famous lullaby. The colors are warm and comforting. This version allows children’s imaginations to take flight and never want to leave the stars. I like how this story is a longer version of twinkle twinkle little star. It is a nice twist on the regular nursery rhyme and made me feel a stronger connection to it. I enjoyed how the star explained the importance of its light. Oh, and if you’re wondering if Mozart wrote the music we all associate with the rhyme, the answer is no. You can read more about that in the highlighted, linked text in the previous sentence. I found it very interesting, myself! Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" is an English lullaby. The lyrics are from an early-19th-century English poem written by Jane Taylor, "The Star". [1] The poem, which is in couplet form, was first published in 1806 in Rhymes for the Nursery, a collection of poems by Taylor and her sister Ann. It is now sung to the tune of the French melody " Ah! vous dirai-je, maman", which was first published in 1761 and later arranged by several composers, including Mozart with Twelve Variations on "Ah vous dirai-je, Maman". [2] The English lyrics have five stanzas, although only the first is widely known. The song is in the public domain. [3]

A parody of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" titled " Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Bat" is recited by the Mad Hatter in chapter seven of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. [8] Woman performs "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" singing gameReview: This book extends beyond the original "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", adding more adventure. The vibe is very Peter Pan-esque which adds an element of excitement for kids! Review: This original poem is not the same as the song and would be a good choice to read before singing the song. The illustrations show that it is Christmas time, making this version a questionable choice in schools where not all children celebrate Christmas. The illustrations are warm and cheery. Original 3-line review: I think this book is great for young readers. It turns a song they all most likely know and sing, into a story about a little girl who makes a wish. The reader gets to travel with the girl and the star to discover what it sees as well. The lyrics were first published with the tune "Ah! vous dirai-je, maman" in The Singing Master: First Class Tune Book in 1838. [5] When sung, the first two lines of the entire poem are repeated as a refrain after each stanza.

The cover of the board book is metallic and star-filled, which catches small children’s attention. Toddlers will love to run their hands over the shiny material and hold it up to the light to make it shine like the namesake star. It’s really a simple and beautiful cover, but my daughter fell completely in love with it. She loves to carry it around and make the cover stars ‘twinkle.’ This English nursery rhyme was first written as a poem by Jane Taylor and published with a title of “The Star” in the ‘Rhymes for the Nursery’ by Jane and her sister, Ann in 1806. The English lyrics have five stanzas, though only the first is widely known. It also has many adaptions around the world. Summary: A girl wonders what a star is and describes the star. She notes how the stars help travelers and that they would be lost without the starlight. She watches the star until the morning. I thought the illustrations were very well done. Just looking at the illustrations gave me Christmas vibesThe words are big and easy to read. The watercolors in the illustration add to the amazement and wonder of the night sky. I recommend this for grades Pre-K-K. Hand Washing: I wrote about the importance of hand-washing with kids. Adding a song in helps increase the time to the recommended one minute of washing and sneaks some learning into daily tasks. As a busy mom, there are days when noon arrives and I feel like I haven’t provided enough educational stimulation to my child’s day. I know how important it is and so, we have found ways to sneak singing and learning nursery rhymes into every day activities such as car trips and brushing our teeth. Original 3 line summary: The author begins this short story with the song(Twinkle,Twinkle, Little Star). After, a little girl looks out her window and asks a star for a wish. The little girl goes on a short adventure.
