I’m not sure one needs to read a book to know this and surprised so many people have bought this book to do it. Scott-Wright promised the book would offerparents "my much sought-after advice for older babies, toddlers and young children, and will ensure peaceful and restful sleep for them and their little ones for years to come."

The Sensational Baby Sleep Plan by Alison Scott-Wright

Can you pump and give him a bottle before bed rather than breast so you know he’s getting a nice big feed, then put him down to sleep? Plus you can build a bit of a controlled routine. I have also found that she tends to talk about formula feeds rather than BF although there is a bit in there about BF. Just wondering if any BF mothers like myself have successfully used her advice. Sounds terrible. I never had this. I had ds's in their own rooms asap, own cot. Bath, breastfeed, bed. Straight to sleep. Me downstairs to watch tv with Dh, then bed. Breastfeed at 10pm, 2am, 6am. it’s not forever! Everything is a phase, and at some point your baby will sleep through the evenings and you will have some adult time again. I know you know that, but it’s important to keep hearing it and saying it.Your DS might surprise you and take milk from somebody else when you are not there. Might. No guaratees. Are there ever any??

I wanted to wait until I'd actually had a baby to rate this, seeing how much of the book's message was applicable and which elements were useful. Solutions to common issues and problems , as well as in-depth explanations on how to cope with reflux and dietary related colic. A follow-up guide, helping parents to handle sleep issues in toddlers and children aged over twelve months. That is the whole basis of part one in ‘ The Sensational Baby Sleep Plan ’, which if you follow, your little one will be naturally sleeping 12-hours by 8-12 weeks old.

Apart from the content, the form of the book is also a touch preachy with all the self-promotion. Like with any parenting book, the book spends more time justifying its claims than explaining them. Alison Scott-Wright is the UK’s leading baby, toddler and child sleep expert who also specialises in the management of ‘colic,’ acid reflux, feeding difficulties, dietary related intolerances and food allergies.

weaning is an option as well. Clearly exclusively bf isn’t filling baby up enough, they usually go through a growth spurt around then. if you are still bfing at night your baby may continue to wake more frequently because he likes the warm snuggle!

Solutions to common issues and problems as well as in-depth explanations on how to cope with reflux and dietary-related colic. If it’s not bad enough for medication then it shouldn’t be causing too many problems, i.e. the baby should be able to sleep comfortably, feed easily and there shouldn’t be too many effects of it - it may be just a mild bit of spit up here and there which doesn’t cause them distress or stop them from having a full and comfortable feed. The best thing that worked for me was that I stopped bringing her onto the bed to feed her as she used to fall asleep and then would be annoyed when she woke up in her cot. I now cradle her (more tiring for me but it has halved wake ups as I think it keeps her more awake) while I feed her and then she is kinda half asleep/almost asleep when I put her down. You're getting lots of advice to early wean but don't do it. The recommendation is 6 months for a reason. Solutions to common issues and problems, as well as in-depth explanations on how to cope with reflux and dietary related colic.
