About this deal

Did you know that they are the national flower of Wales, which makes them perfect for St David’s day crafts. There is a fantastic selection of crafts here for kids of all ages. Some will work on their motor skills such as the pipe cleaner ones but others are perfect for sensory seekers such as the clay pots. Given that I can barely keep things alive about 90% of the time, cut flowers for me are always a great way to bring some greenery and colour into our home.

Wrap the paper around the base of the flower to hide the place where the petals attach. You will need to add a little bit more glue to the base of the tulip to cover the base of the flower. Put a rim of glue along the bottom inside of the trumpet. Put the wire and stigma inside the trumpet and squeeze the trumpet to the stigma and wire. The trumpet should be pretty evenly scrunched along the stigma. Position the final four green pieces on top of the wreath and glue them together where the pieces overlap. The colour of the daffodil also has its own symbolism. The bright yellow colour of the flower petals makes them a symbol of positivity and joy.

This gorgeous wreath uses REAL daffodils and narcissus so it really is a show-stopper spring wreath for your home.I should say, that I’m by no means an expert in anything to do with flowers or plants and I totally admit that I even had to google how to soak the oasis for the flowers before I started this project. But, as I got quite a few questions on how to make this wreath I thought I’d share this super easy guide. Seriously, it takes minutes and if I could make it, anyone can!

Using the template as a guide, cut out petals, trumpets/tubes, and stigmas from your yellow, white, and orange crepe paper. Each flower needs six petals, one trumpet, and one stigma. Your kit has plenty of paper to cut out seven flowers. Fold the stigma paper in half so that the short sides touch and then glue and wrap around one of the short pieces of wire. Gently stretch sections along the scalloped top of the trumpet so that it has some movement, and use your index finger to stretch the base a little bit so that it looks more like a cup. When adding the foam pads to the relevant layers, make sure you add some in the middle of the pieces of card so it give stability to the middles. If you don’t add any foam pads in the middles then it can “sag” under the weight of the other layers which doesn’t look as good. These crafts might need a little more preparation but are super fun for little ones. The hands-on crafts focus on the process rather than the outcome making them fabulous for toddlers and young preschoolers. My choice would definitely be those pipe cleaner daffodils, with the felt wreath coming in a close second! There’s nothing that reminds me of Spring more than daffodils, but sadly they seem to come and go really fast, so these fabulous DIY daffodil crafts allow you to make ones that will last with your children. Get into the sunny spirit with these DIY Daffodil crafts
