Description

The FA3820X4 Carbon Monoxide Alarm offers a variety of safety features, including Ventilate Instruction, Alarm Memory, Sleep Easy and Quiet Self Test. Under the extended Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (England) Regulations 2015, from October 1st 2022, a carbon monoxide alarm will be required in all rooms where there is a fixed combustion appliance – such as gas boilers or gas fires – once the compliance date is announced. However, gas cookers are excluded from the updated regulation.

However, if your CO alarm is beeping, flashing red or not responding during a test, follow our troubleshooting guide to decipher the cause. This guide applies to FireAngel FA3313 and FA3820 alarms. Why is my FireAngel CO alarm going off? FireAngel’s FA3322 digital carbon monoxide alarm features many icons on the LCD screen. View our guide below to help you understand what each represents.

What's Included?

The alarm’s high sensitivity mode will be enabled if the alarm predicts CO levels will increase to or above 180ppm for fast reaction to rising CO levels. Experience both audible and visual safety warnings with the digital screen, which will change colour to indicate different incident types for clear safety advice.

Carbon monoxide is a highly poisonous gas, caused by fuel not burning properly. It cannot be seen, smelt or tasted by the human senses and is only detectable through a CO alarm. Our FA3322X4 Carbon Monoxide Alarm with digital display comes with a sealed, tamper proof battery that will last the lifetime of the alarm. The sensors within the unit will deteriorate after 10 years, so to ensure you’re protected we recommend you replace the unit after this time. Also note that carbon monoxide has been proven to spread into neighbouring properties through open windows and, in semi-detached or terrace houses, through loft spaces. If your property has an attached garage with a connecting door through to the house, it is recommended to fit a CO alarm inside the house leading from that doorway.

If your CO alarm stopped beeping after being outside in the fresh air for 10 minutes, you may have a possible carbon monoxide leak in your home. We recommend calling your gas supplier or national emergency gas helpline on 0800 111 999 and await further instruction. If your FireAngel CO alarm is fully activating, and you can hear 4 loud beeps, immediately open any doors or windows in your home, stop using any appliances, switch them off and evacuate the building taking the CO alarm with you. CE marked and Kitemarked to BS EN 50291-1 (domestic use) & BS EN 50291-2:2010 (camping/caravans/boats)If you have had your FireAngel carbon monoxide alarm for a few years but it is still within warranty, and the isolation pin has been removed, please get in touch with our Customer Support team. If it is not within warranty, please replace your alarm as soon as possible. Why is my FireAngel CO alarm beeping? Find out more about the FA3313X4 CO Alarm. FA6813-EU: Carbon Monoxide Alarm with replaceable batteries

An audible Carbon Monoxide detector is the only way to be alerted to a carbon monoxide leak; it can’t be smelt, tasted or seen so it’s impossible for human senses to detect. Known as the ‘ Silent Killer’, CO occurs when fuels burn incompletely, with common sources being boilers, gas fires and hobs and solid fuel burners. However, carbon monoxide can also pass through walls, so you would also be at risk if a neighbouring property had a leak. FireAngel recommend a CO alarm is installed between 1 m and 3 m away from each fuel‑burning appliance, as well as installing additional units in areas such as living rooms and bedrooms where you spend most time whilst at home. Activating your new FireAngel CO alarm Looking for a CO-9D alarm replacement? FireAngel’s new FA3322X4 alarm will be replacing any end-of-life CO-9D alarms. The alarm features the latest CO sensing technology and can be used to replace end-of-life FireAngel CO-9X alarms. Fitted with a sealed, tamper proof battery that will last the lifetime of the alarm. The sensors within the unit will deteriorate after 10 years, so to ensure you’re protected we recommend you replace the unit after this time. Combined smoke & CO alarms or mains-powered CO alarms are typically installed on the ceiling and should be at least 30cm away from any wall, light fitting, or other obstruction. With the alarm memory function, the red LED will flash to provide a visual indication of a previous CO alarm activation.
