The Logitech G923 is the same price no matter which console compatible version you opt for. And this is the same between the G29 and G920. However, the G29 and G920 are priced slightly lower than the G923.

Set the default profile as "persistent" then go in to your games and tweak the settings there and ignore the Logitech software completely from then on. Spend a bit of time in each of your games getting the wheel to feel right and you'll be fine. There was a bigger issue with compatibility between the G29 and G920. The G920 was the Xbox compatible racing wheel and had much less functionality compared to the G29. This is frustrating as both racing wheels cost the same money, but you essentially received a worse product with the G920 compared to the G29.
