Description

The dimensions are perfectly matched to the MFT top and it has these 5mm holes on this side that are parallel to this edge. So I had two options, I could either try to remove and then move those bracing pieces - taking the screws out and hitting them with a hammer to try to break the glue joints. The content contained on this site is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute professional advice. In this video I'll be making an MFT style top without using a CNC or any expensive specialist jigs or guide systems - just using some basic tools that you probably already have, and a home made jig. Before I go and spend my money on the wrong tools Does anybody know or have a link to the correct bushing size and drill bit that fits the 20mm MFT/3 holes used to prevent damaging the the top before drilling out the bulk of the holes?

These 4 or 5-star reviews represent the opinions of the individuals who posted them and do not reflect the views of Etsy. This makes it easy to align and secure your workpieces, ensuring accuracy and repeatability in your projects. So I loosened the bolt, squared up the table, and tightened it again, and then it looked much better. In this footage I'm moving the jig from the second row to the third row, locating the jig with the awl in the first hole of the third row, I can then measure the distance between the short edge of the top and the jig on both sides to get it positioned accurately, so because here I am on the third row of holes, the measurements from the short edge to the jig needed to be 200mm.I decide to mitre the corners, just to make it look nice, and then I glued and clamped the pieces in place to force the wood back to being straight, and I used a few pin nails too, and I made sure to fire the nails in as low as possible because later on I want to add a round over to the top of the trim. dog hole diameters, aluminum/stainless/delrin (all have different rates of thermal expansion) dog outside diameters along with dog hole locational distances, why would you think that this is in any way a precision guide to cut precise angles?

To secure the top I'm going to be using pocket holes, but without using a jig - I just get th drill bit started, and then slowly angle it and finish off the hole. There might just be a video out soon on a modestly popular YouTube channel that compares the UJK Parf Guide Mk2 with the Trend MFT/jig and the RSPro jig. And then I added a round over to the top edges of the trim, this is going to make the edges more durable.I want my table top to be 1800mm long by 800mm wide, and here I'm measuring and marking up so that I can cut it to size - obviously I'm making sure to work from my square reference corner of the sheet. Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. What I’ll do is get the screws off the original MFT top in preparation to put our jig on, and fold the table legs so this can be lifted up out of the way.

The second group wants to reproduce a MFT surface that becomes a critical alignment surface using dogs and dog holes to align Festool rails to cut critical angles and to attain picture perfect fits. And to check my corner was square I wanted the distance between those two marks to be 1100mm, and for me it was spot on, so no further adjustments were needed.

Hold the square up to the edge, scribe a line, and then flip the square over, scribe another line, and if your square is square, those lines should be exactly the same distance away from one another.

They also have some other plywood products intended for cabinetry work that have plywood cores and manufactured surfaces. Next I can simply line up my jig flush with the short edge at my reference corner and clamp it in place, and then using the 4mm drill bit in my drill, I drill the holes. The ratings/reviews displayed here may not be representative of every listing on this page, or of every review for these listings.Accuracy here isn’t critical – this won’t affect the alignment of your dog holes, but it’s still nice to get a good fit inside the MFT, so try your best. is probably most appropriate flush trim bit for the job, so size your drill bit accordingly - at least 1/2".
