About this deal

I’d recommend this book to everyone who understand Spanish grammar on the A2 level which is already beginner plus. Still, it was a good investment, and I will read through it several more times as I work toward my goal. Finally, the series is also available for learners of French, Italian, German, English and Russian, so there’s plenty of scope if you decide to learn more languages beyond Spanish. Learning a language is challenging, but it's one of the best things you can do for your brain and your learning skill set.

I was on the verge of writing this review in Spanish, but then I realized how nonsensical that would be, lmao. As someone who has read other, more basic readers and tried to read more complex texts, this is a good step in building up confidence and gradually getting used to more advanced stories and vocabulary. It is a great book to learn Spanish language, it contains several stories each story divided in 3 chapters to make it easy to understand it.

A summary, glossary and 5 question quiz at the end of each section help test and consolidate your learning.Olly's advice on language learning is the real deal, and I recommend you pay attention to what he has to say! I might not have known every word or every sentence, but going through this summary section did increase my confidence that I'd understood enough. An unmissable collection of eight unconventional and captivating short stories for young adult and adult intermediate learners of Italian.

The eight captivating stories are designed to give you a sense of achievement and a feeling of progress when reading. Unless your are at a stage in learning where these have all been taught I am not sure it will be clear or understood from this book. When it comes to mastering a foreign language, listening around your interests makes all the difference. You'll enjoy reading in Spanish, grow your vocabulary in a natural way, and improve your comprehension at the same time. I also find that the books are good for higher levels too as there is always something to learn from them.

I doubt these would work for complete beginners, but I have been learning for 5 months quite intensively and these were perfect. Short Stories in Spanish for Beginners is an unmissable collection of eight unconventional and captivating short stories for adult and young adult learners.I loved the sense of progression and it certainly feels more rewarding than going through textbooks. This follows with Krashen's input hypothesis of going from i to i+1 with the help of our learned aspects of the language, knowledge of the world, and knowledge of the current situation. With no exposure to languages growing up, and no special talent to speak of, he had to figure out how to learn a foreign language from scratch. The helpful summaries and highlighting of possibly difficult vocabulary, as well as giving a translation of that word (or phrase) in the current context, is a really good idea! But that gripe apart these are good stories for a student to work on as long as you understand that as a beginner you have no chanceof understanding these stories at an initial hearing.
