About this deal

Bearing in mind the master and slave cylinders seem absolutely fine, it's just the coupling that's damaged I'm thinking of just cutting the pipes (I think they afre 8mm? However, BSP and NPTF are defined by the bore of the hose they fit, hence a ½” BSP fitting fits a ½” hose. Could anyone confirm or advise if this will work, or does the original connector serve any other purpose? Designed for under bonnet use with push in fittings secured with worm drive clamps or similar fittings in smaller sizes i.

The connection is press in bayonet fitting very similar to a JG Guest or Hep2o domestic water pipe fitting. Extruded Teflon tube with stainless steel single wire braid cover (1/8" bore) commonly used for braking systems. If subjected to continuous flexing the stainless-steel strands can eventually fracture and could penetrate the Teflon liner - vehicles should be regularly inspected for signs of wear. Use copper grease on the fitting to coat the stainless spring fingers and it might come apart next time, but don't hold your breath. You've probably no chance, I didn't even try I just replaced slave and master so everything was new. I really just wanted to give Lloyds a kit of parts for the upcoming clutch and gearbox mods including the braided hose, but I guess they can source it. We do not offer any guarantee of their suitability for any purpose beyond usage on off road vehicles under conditions of regular inspection. Hi, I've got the same problem (corroded and split connectors joining the hydraulic pipe that joins the master and slave cylinder).

The aluminium corrodes against the stainless and the considerable expansion of aluminium oxide = a ruined fitting that will never separate. Take the brass nut from the bulkhead end with you to get the correct thread and take the slave cylinder with you also. Stainless Steel braided fuel hose - suitable for commercial fuels and fuel mixtures up to a maximum of 50% Benzol. All our clutch fluid pipes are from trusted brands in the motoring industry, so you can count on them to be reliable and of excellent quality.

Three (that's 3) Jubillee clips on each end of the new hose made sure it couldn't slide off under pressure. You can you tube how to release the connector bit after years of salt grit etc it could be almost impossible to separate? The 7/16 UNF 20 it exactly what I was expecting as its the typical Triumph/Land Rover Girling fair I'm use to, and they're nearly always 7/16 UNF 20. The connector wouldn't separate in the manner described elsewhere on the Forum and that turned out to be connected with the reason why it cracked in the first place. My hydraulics place also provided me with the adapter that fits into the s/c first that the hose then fastens on to.

I belive the union on the inner wing is Imperial and the brake pipe connectors at the wishbones are metric.Anyway it's the clutch I'm really interested in, did you ever confirm what the fixing sizing is on the wing and master cylinder (and clutch servo if you have that too)? I found that I had accidentally routed the pipe over rather than under an air conditioner line but disconnected it from the M/C and positioned it correctly.
