However, while they try to rouse the kids, the Headmaster has a devious contingency plan in place via the tablets he distributed to all the parents. But there is something strange about it all that scares Dinah – so her friends come with her to the final.

However, delve deeper, and you may find Gillian Cross has raised some important issues (social control, about the fact that the music we listen to, the television programmes we worship and the books we read influence our daily lives in more than one way, and about discipline and creativity. The story follows Dinah Glass, a new student at school, and she finds it a very strange place right from the start. They finally work together to discover what the evil man is up to and then try to come up with a plan to stop his insane plans. Reeves has pitched a second series to CBBC, using further elements of Total Control, as well as its sequel, Mortal Danger. There's a new computer game at school and the chance to enter the Junior Computer Brain of the Year competition is sendi. Without getting into "spoiler territory", the story examines the cost of individual freedom at the hands of absolute perfectionism. Danny took part on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018, becoming the seventh eliminated contestant from the series.

I first picked up The Demon Headmaster when I was in Grade 2, and of course, my grade 2 self loved it.She arrives in the story at the Hunters' house as a foster child, having been orphaned at an early age and brought up in a children's home.

Dinah, Lloyd and Harvey are gonna have to work together if they're gonna fight back against the Headmaster. However Lizzie suddenly starts to behave aggressive against the school, her brother becomes a robotics genius and their recent made friend Ethan becomes a soccer star. The introduction to the story says, 'Maybe you think you have spotted the Demon Headmaster somewhere. Dinah moves in with the Hunter's family in Conningham and begins to go to school ( St Champions) with her foster brothers Lloyd and Harvey. Create a scenario between the Demon Headmaster, Dinah, Llyod and Harvey and ask students to act it out.Dinah Glass moves in with the Hunter family and starts going to the same school as her foster brothers Lloyd and Harvey. This book was later adapted by CBBC and became to the first half of series one of the 1990's TV series. What we have here is brutal cruelty happening to children (in one scene, the main characters are forced to labour in the snow without any protective clothing - this is Nazi-level abuse) and terrifying mind control and manipulation where children have no memory or control of what is happening to them - a strange man is able to stick pins into Dinah without her able to stop him, it doesn't take much imagination to think of worse that could happen.

But for this, he needs Dinah's DNA - combining it with a lizard to create Eve, a human/lizard hybrid who possesses Dinah's intellect but lacks her emotions - and then put her into terrible danger, pitting her against Eve to test his theories. He is the founder and leader of the Society for the Protection of our Lives Against Them, or SPLAT as it is known. These discussion questions and activity suggestions provide opportunities to develop english and art and design knowledge and skills in meaningful contexts across all UK curricula, as well as dance, drama and performing arts. This whole quaint little universe bumbles along pleasantly, somehow unaware of what a truly scary plot lurks in its midst. It features SPLAT-type characters, including a lead named Charity who actually reads the Demon Headmaster books in the story, Charity defeating the Headmaster by using mirrored sunglasses to trick him into hypnotising himself. I think this is a story that all children would enjoy and would support children to continue to read for pleasure at a stage where particularly boys sometimes begin to lose interest in reading, looking on it as perhaps a mainly female preoccupation. Taking the target audience and everything else into account, I guess a 4 would be a justified rating.
