Earl Roland: the earl of Shiring; he and his sons acted as the Queen's henchmen in the assassination attempt of Edward II. In the TV adaptation is played by Peter Firth. Left to fight alone, Zelenskiy pleads for heavy weapons but his pleas still often go unmet or responses are delayed. “We need to get serious about supplying [Ukraine’s] army so that it can do what the world is asking it to do: fight a world superpower alone on the battlefield,” says US Gen Philip Breedlove, formerly Nato commander in Europe. He’s right.

It’s no good relying on sanctions, as the EU proved again last week. Its decision to let Hungary’s mini-Putin, Viktor Orbán, water down an oil embargo was weird. Yet Germany’s Olaf Scholz and fellow euro-wobblers are content. Duty done on oil, they will now more stubbornly resist what their bankers and businessmen most fear: sanctions on gas. EIU said several days after the Russian invasion of Ukraine thatthe outcome of the war was unlikely to conform to Russia’s original game plan of a swift toppling of the government, and so it has proved. One reason such impunity endures is that China and India, though sworn to uphold the UN charter and international law, prefer instead to profit from Ukraine’s agony by buying cut-price Russian energy. Developing countries, meanwhile, cast themselves as innocent victims of a far-off conflict that has nothing to do with them. The Muslim world is also divided internally, between the Shia and Sunni traditions and fundamentalist and secular interpretations of Islam. These schisms have been depicted by the Arabic noun fitna, which can mean both “charm, enchantment, captivation” and “rebellion, riot, discord, civil strife”.

While technically not all that impressive, the instrumentals are pretty damn effective and powerful. The riffs swing between aggression and semi-melodic catchiness, and they are distributed pretty well. Examples of the second would be the riff at 1:46 in Born of the Ruins or the one at about 2:08 in Beneath The Waves. The most impressive thing about this record is by far the beefy drumming of Ryan Bates, who lights under those riffs with demolishing double-bass patterns and blistering fills that shake the entire mix periodically. John Kevill's vocals are always a delight, he has an unmistakable yelling, angry style that matches this kind of music perfectly well. He's a great example of how to sound extremely aggressive and vicious without growling.

This album is loaded with riffs reminiscent of Exodus, Slayer, and all the other acts we know and love. One of the standout performances on this record though is the drumming, it's got tons of fills, double bass drum mayhem, and some pretty nice patterns throughout. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the bass playing which typically follows the guitars to the point. I'm just happy that the production was very nice and that I could actually hear the bass. The solos on this record are nicely done but nothing unknown to the world of metal. They follow scale patterns pretty often but then again so does every solo to some extent.

Most of the factions fall in that sweet spot, which suggests that overall the armies – and the game – are pretty well balanced. A few find themselves on either side – there are several reasons for this, and a number of things we can do to influence those results. Factions and Factors First, the production. It seems like the producer was trying to make this sound like an album that came out of the 80s, but failed miserably. It's too mushy and dry sounding. This brings the listening quality of the songs down a bit.Although each army has its own characteristic fighting style, certain features are common to several factions. Space Marine Chapters, the various Traitor Legions , the Adepta Sororitas , and even the Necron dynasties have a great deal setting them apart from one another, but they can all call upon a variety of squads equipped with a 3+ Save and keep foes at bay with boltguns or other medium-range weapons. Wise heads point to Turkey’s guardianship of an obscure 1936 convention restricting wartime passage through the Bosphorus. A fig for that! Recep Tayyip Erdoğan should help his western partners. It’s high time Turkey’s ageing bully minded his responsibilities, which include welcoming Nato applicants Finland and Sweden.
