The love between friends is a kind of blood connection – invisible, yet deeply felt and unbreakable.” Family isn’t confined by genes; it’s the tribe of people who make you feel cherished, supported, and loved.”

Our MMC is .... wow 🥵. Sin is not only written to be incredibly swoon-worthy, but he is also very complex and contributes more to the story than just a pretty face. He is truly a morally grey character and the romance is ACTUALLY enemies to lovers. The slow-burn tension on this one is 🤌🤌🤌 The ending of this book 🤯 It has me on the edge of my seat and I cannot wait for The Bonds That Break Us! There's little room given to ever flesh out side characters, but even more so when it comes to the few women we're introduced to. Unsurprisingly, most of which are written in a negative light with little good things to be said about them. It's literally only Kimberly that we hear good things about because she's not like other girls. That being said, the pacing in this could have used work and especially room to breathe between scenes. Kimberly has no friends with the low effort put into actually making any, which bleeds into the rest of the book and leads to no anticipation for future Aaron/Kimberly scenes. This is because there are rarely any scenes where the two of them aren't together and it leads to fatigue.I also LOVE Zach, Luke, and Presley!! I love how strong their bond is, the fact that they are willing to do anything for each other. How SUPPORTIVE they are of Aaron and Kimberly!! And I love that Kimberly finally has a family that loves her unconditionally 🥹

No catch. You join me and I'll give you everything you could possibly want. In return, all you have to do is stay." He stood close now, close enough that Wilbur could see the way his eyes curled with sadness, close enough that he could see the man behind the monster. They stood like that for a moment, head to head, chest to chest, peering into each other's souls, then Phil was gone, swept away into the Misty shadows once again. Our blood relations are the living embodiment of our past, present, and the legacy we leave for the future.” Whispers of the carnage traveled far and wide, describing the bodies drained, eyes glassy and dull. They spoke of the blood decorating the walls and streets and how no one had been spared, not even the children. They whispered of the man who had emerged, blood dripping from his mouth and staining his clothes and his claws and his teeth, eyes red. They called him the angel of Death. This book is marketed as a captor / captive - enemies to lovers to enemies - messy /relationship… with spice. And all of that is 100% accurate! But also I wanted more? Aaron Calem has been trying to resist the blood lust raging through his new body, but the unfamiliar voice in his head won’t let him pass up an easy meal. When he’s left with a girl barely clinging to life, he must choose between loyalty to his brothers or his own morality.

All of this makes up an incredibly fun cast in our more tense and worrying plot. Seeing these characters deal with the rough situations they end up in means we get to see how their views change throughout this. I found this incredibly satisfying to watch. other than the things i talked about, i really did enjoy my time reading it! i literally finished it in two sittings if that says anything and i can definitely see it becoming someone’s comfort book. so i definitely recommend reading it!!♡
