Record itself sounds quite good -- a few pops and crackles with some static on a couple tracks, but nothing major. An honest LP from an MC well in the know that he was transcending realities, all while attempting to let go of the baggage on this damn planet. The printed clear sleeves are neat, but I will not keep the media inside them, they could have easily upgraded to rice paper sleeves.

Self Care" is one of the realest hip hop singles that I have ever heard, or maybe that's because I am getting out of a relationship right now. Sounds crystal clear, the white vinyl and light blue labels are beautiful and really compliment the aesthetic of the album. All the production nuances are laid bare and the outstanding bass production on this record sounds great on this pressing too. Released just a month before his sudden and tragic death from an accidental drug overdose, 2018’s Swimming was a fitting epitaph to the all-too-brief career of talented rap megastar Mac Miller. Two of the discs were flat as pancakes, the second LP of swimming was warped and the first one of Circles was just a little warped. Critical me: I hate trifolds and they always seem to split more and wear out quicker, case seems flimsy, record sleeves are a weird attempt at making them look nice.

I really wish they would've put some work into the packaging and made a thick gatefold with some more images/writing/etc but I'm still really pleased with how this one turned out. Same for records but they are pressed using a white material (Matrix stamps are identical to Warner's records).A highly creative record which pitchfork described as consisting of "wistful soul and warm funk", through his exploration of heartbreak and his own mental health issues. In the edit page, go to the 'Metadata' tab and add your Juno artist, label or release page for listeners to purchase your release / releases.

Both Swimming and Circles are pretty sub-par pressings, but Swimming is especially poor with a lot of surface noise and pops. If you’re not particularly excited about it just get Swimming (there is an UO blue that looks just like it) and Circles separately. A routinely great artist, much of Sufjan's universal appeal comes from his skills as a gifted narrator, pairing personal musings on love and devotion with commentary on American culture, whilst welding folk and electronica, the ambient and existential. This was a good melding of Mac's Larry Fisherman and Mac Miller personalities (no Thomas here, dammit! Over the last few months he has disarmed packed rooms of rowdy concert goers, leaving them silent as they hold fast to every syllable sung. I'd recommend picking up the albums separately, I don't see any merit in choosing this instead, unless you really like the colour or something. Over its 40 years in business, PIAS has grown to be one of the largest independently-owned music groups in the world, carving out its own in-house recorded music division PIAS [Recordings].

Now with a massively successful US tour opening for sweet soul darlings Thee Sacred Souls behind him, 2023 is sure to be a propitious year for Daptone's newest signee. All image and audio content is used by permission of the copyright holders or their agents, and/or according to fair dealing as per the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. His devotion to constant sonic exploration and artistic reinvention had already been well-documented prior to the album's release - the quantum leap from his Billboard chart-topping debut Blue Slide Park to his sophomore album Watching Movies with the Sound Off, his tour de force as a producer on his 2014 mixtape Faces and ability to direct a full band on 2016's The Divine Feminine were evidence of his steadfast commitment to growth in his craft. They're strange, but infrequent enough not to overshadow the fact that there's plenty of clarity and definition to the mix.Doesn’t affect sound quality but I’ll get Swimming fixed because there is something about a warped record that makes my skin crawl. Recorded at Hive Mind Studios in Brooklyn, NY, with the help of producer/arrangers Mike Buckley and Vincent Chiarito (both members of Charles Bradley's Extraordinaires) and crack team of a-list musicians, his upcoming album blends heavy arrangements and introspective lyrics with sophistication, leaving the listener in a blissful wash of wonderment.
