This was recommended to me by the violin teacher - to be honest I don't have much experience with violin books but having a quick flick through it seems pretty good!Piano and string accompaniments, plus notes, warm-ups, photocopiable pages, and additional material. The book has been revised since my eldest son started to learn, and the first few pages concentrate on getting a feel for musicality and rhythm, learning the parts of the violin, etc before staves, crotchets, quavers etc are introduced, which can sometimes be hard for a younger child to grasp.
