Description

The slightest tinge of lemon on the tip of the tongue when sipped. Despite that flash, the real star of the early and mid is herbaceous juniper. There’s suggestions of tarragon and chervil here. Another interesting botanical is bee pollen. This is quite an uncommon botanical and it also means that contrary to pretty much any gin, this gin is not suitable for vegans. The main focus of this gin was to still stay with the juniper-forward gin but to add a little something extra to it. On the nose, the lemon is quite aromatic and very present, while it doesn’t overpower the juniper at all. Hints of honey are noticeable scents as well.

The Malfy distillery is located in Moncalieri outside the city of Torino, an area famous for its fine wines and spirits. It is here that Malfy gin is produced with its loving tones of citrus, a flavour very dear to the hearts of every Italian, producing a truly unique gin that encapsulates this zesty fresh taste.

SGROPPINO AL LAMPONE

Malfy’s lemon gin and their grapefruit gin are considered to be one of the best, if not the best, lemon and grapefruit gins on the market right now.

Along a range of gins, Finders also distills other spirits such as rum and vodka. Most of these spirits are flavored spirits and try to set themselves apart from the norm with some more uncommon ingredients.

OLIVE MARTINI

Citruses in general were already a quite commonly used botanical in gin, pretty much every dry gin contains citrus botanicals. Only recently, however, have brands been incorporating lemons specifically more and more into the main flavor palate of their gin. The nose of Malfy Gin Con Arancia is a bit of a let down. It has a slightly plastic character with a bit of raw ethanol. I’d compare it to grabbing a pre-cut orange wrapped in plastic at the deli. It’s there, but it smells preserved. Lemon Grove gin is a gin from a brand called The English Drinks Company. This brand only started distilling gin in 2016, but they’ve already managed to come up with a great arsenal of different gins, their first gin being a Cucumber gin. Like all of Sipsmith’s flavored gins, the Lemon Drizzle gin is based on the recipe of their London dry gin. The Sipsmith London dry gin is a complex gin that is rich with aroma. The spirit is extremely smooth but also very rich in taste. In general, I would recommend this gin as a mixing gin. It’s solid in a Gin and Tonic and paired with intense mixers like ginger ale ( Gin and Ginger) or a Gin and Lemonade. Overall, Malfy Originale Gin

While Gordon’s Sicilian Lemon gin was quite heavily lemon-flavored, the Flavoursmiths version is a bit more balanced. With this gin, you still get a nice and refreshing drink with zesty elements from the Sicilian lemon. Malfy, originating from the Amalfi Coast in Italy, is an extremely popular gin brand that mainly focusses on its three flavored gins. Distillers Beppe Ronco and Denis Muni make each of the gins under the Malfy brand in their stainless steel vacuum still. Malfy Originale is a straightforward and traditional approach to gin, featuring a scant six botanicals, all of them common in 19th century London Dry gins. Tasting Notes

Overall, Malfy Gin Con Arancia

The nose is rich, with citrus oil notes: lots and lots of lemon, with some bitter orange rind notes underneath it, lending it an almost Chinotto under-note. Deeper, there’s a faint terpenic conifer note under it as well. It’s safe to say that the English Drinks Company has quite the experience in distilling flavored gins and it shows!

As you may have noticed, they use a ton of different lemon parts to really capture the lemon flavors as much as possible. This drink is perfect for warm weather sipping. The flavors and freshness of this drink make it a great choice for warmer weather. 💭 What is a Limoncello Gin Collins? In a simple gin and tonic without any garnish or flavoured tonic, I feel this stands up quite well. The Malfy gin con Limone is a fresh and very easy drink – especially for non-gin drinkers to experiment with.Use a different simple syrup. Feel free to make this drink your own by using a plain or other flavored simple syrup. It may change the appearance of the drink (and will definitely change the flavor). If you’re a big fan of strong juniper notes, however, your best bet would be to try to drink this gin neat or this gin might disappoint you a bit. The juniper notes are a bit toned down but are still present if it’s consumed neat. Firstly, they use Sicilian Blood Oranges which are a protected type of blood orange only grown in (yup, you guessed it), Sicily. They’ve also been called Maltese oranges. The Vergnano family’s gin is naturally distilled in a modern fashion, but similarly builds on the bounty of the Italian land: the base is Italian wheat, the juniper is from Tuscany, and the lemons are a blend of Sicilian and boutique Amalfi Coast lemons.
