I tend not to like clips like that that don't swivel. I would also wonder how much weight those clips support. I’ve been using the Leash since they first came out including on my EM1ii, or the Slide Lite 2 when I’ve got the PL 100-400mm mounted. I also frequently use the Cuff wrist strap. The PD anchor link system is brilliant, it takes literally only 10 or 15 seconds to switch camera straps on a camera body, or to use the same strap on different bodies. All in all, I LOVE our Peak Design Capture Clip and can confidently say that it’s dramatically helped us up our photography game—simply by encouraging us to take more photos. Between its durability, incredible versatility, thoughtful design and reasonable price point, this little gadget is a must for every photographer on the go.

The straps: the broad one (Tallac) is stiff and slippery. Looks nice in blue. On a wall because on a camera it's useless. Now they refined it again...As far as I’m concerned, the Capture Clip could be used wherever you can imagine using it. As long as there is a place the metal plates can grab on tightly, it can be used to mount your camera. But how does all this compare to a harness system, which is often the standard in event photography?

My Peak Design Capture Clip came with a standard Arca-Swiss-compatible plate, 2 hand-drive screws, 2 4mm hex screws, a hex wrench and a microfiber pouch to store everything in. Pro Pad: The Pro Pad wraps around a belt and acts as an expanded padded surface for the Capture Clip to attach to, increasing comfort and stability when attaching large or heavy gear. It did take us some time to get used to, but the more we used it, the more confident we grew in the Capture Clip. You won’t be seeing us doing jump ropes while we have a DSLR strapped on anytime soon, though brisk walks are a cinch to us now. The Capture Clip and its accessories are expensive. Granted, we get what we pay for here, but it’s a bit much.I’m telling this story because it shows one minor niggle with the Capture Clip. If your tripod isn’t compatible, like my smaller tripods, then you’ll need to remove the plate from your camera using the allen key. This can be a minor nuisance and leaves the plate at risk of being lost on a mountain if you’re a numpty like me. Still, there are some tripods that do work with the plate in place, as well as some alternative plates and adapters for various uses. If you want a deeper dive into the Capture Clip, let’s get into it! Specifications about the Peak Design Capture Clip (V3) Peak Design continues to bring a photographers-first approach to their design with a very strong sense for what works and what doesn’t. In this writer's opinion, the new Capture Clip falls squarely in the "works" column. What we like: You can also change the orientation of the Lens Kit when attached to the Capture Clip—we usually keep it in the vertical orientation while we’re walking around and horizontally when we’re using it to swap out lenses (this goes when you’re using the Capture Clip to hold your camera, as well—hang it in whatever orientation you so please!). It’s like having a third hand!

Includes Standard Plate, which works with most Arca-type tripods. Need Manfrotto® RC2 compatibility? Get Dual Plate Capture (Clip Only). Also, there’s supposed to be a little bit of play between the camera and the clip. Without that play it would be impossible to get your camera in or out. I wish they'd commented on what kind/brand of eyelet was causing accelerated wear, they seemed to allude to sometime specific but didn't name it. Been meaning to take a close look at my two bodies' eyelets to see if there's really any rough edges in there...Lens Kit: An attachment that slides into the capture clip designed to hold lenses. This is basically a standard plate with a circular extension on which one can directly mount two lenses. Produced for either Nikon F, Canon EF, or Sony E/FE mounts. Yep, but I got some of the V3 loops, I found I liked them over the V1/V2 loops because they were much thinner, and it would allow me to get rid of the little triangles or rings manufacturers put on the eyelets to attach the strap. If you’re like me, you’ll just leave the plate on the camera for 90% of the time. Just note that this means it won’t sit flat on a surface any more. This is an excellent location because most photographers use a camera bag already to keep their gear with them. With the Capture Clip attached to a shoulder strap, it creates an in-between place to store one’s camera – not stashed away in the bag, nor in one’s hands. Instead, it’s right on one’s chest ready to go. Here, the weight is also nicely distributed onto a strap that is meant for load bearing. NIKON Z 6 + NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.8 S @ 50mm, ISO 500, 1/4000, f/1.8 2. Belt Mounted

When you’re first getting started, though, it’s best to use two hands. (When we first tried it out, we had the button on the outside and it definitely needed two hands!) Similarly, the metal plate’s low profile is awesome—you hardly notice it when you’re holding on to your camera and I love that it’s already compatible with Arca tripods (including Peak Design’s!). Comfort

What's also nice is V3 ships with two different sets of clamping bolts, hand-driven ones and a set that are driven in using a hex key (included). In Use
