Description

A C Pen reader is most commonly used for students with dyslexia. It helps them to listen to rather than read written words so they can interpret them more clearly and effectively. Personally, I think the best thing about the C-Pen reader is that it helps people with dyslexia overcome a barrier that has disadvantaged them their whole lives.

The pen is surprisingly quiet when it reads out loud. If you’re getting this pen for someone who’s hard of hearing, think twice. C-pens are one of many ways to overcome reading disabilities such as dyslexia since the pen can easily read a line of text to you aloud. Even if you are in a crowded space, you can always plug in your headphones and increase the volume. The best way I can describe it is that it sounds like Stephen Hawking. You’re not going to get smooth and perfect intonation of a natural human voice. There’s a long pause at periods or randomly in the middle of a sentence. The reason for this is because the user needs to be able to hold it reliably at a 70-90 degree angle and run it across text smoothly. Younger kids can certainly do this, but may waver and jitter around, especially the longer they have to hold the device.

The second format is the C-Pen Exam Reader, which has been approved for use in exams by The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ). This pen still reads text aloud to students as they scan (via headphones), but the dictionary and storage functions are disabled to ensure the user does not obtain an unfair advantage in an exam. Why use the C-Pen? You do need a computer, however, to charge, transfer files and update the device. You can do so on Windows, MacOS and even Linux machines. Your device also needs a standard USB port to charge it. The Exam Reader 2 has been given official exam board guidance from a number of examining bodies around the world, which includes no special access requirements in many cases. Use the C-Pen Reader 2 to read printed text aloud for you. It features high-quality naturally speaking English, American, Australian, British, Irish, Scottish and Indian accents, as well as Spanish (regular or Latin accents) and French voices. Fast and Effective Scanning

The digital highlighter – alongside with the text-to-speech function – supports multi-sensory learning and aid language retention. Exciting ReaderPen features The built-in microphone allows you to easily record audio, such as voice memos, meetings or lectures. The audio files are then saved in the device so they can be retrieved and listened to any time. You can also upload the audio files to your computer, giving you added convenience. Easy Connectivity So if your student has a hard time with grip, dexterity or has motor control difficulties, they may have a hard time holding the device properly and accuracy may suffer. If this is the case, you may want to consider more practice with the device or a larger device. With C-Pen Reader 2 you are an independent reader, able to read any printed text on your own. Depending on your need, scan full paragraphs or single words and listen to the text being read out automatically. Literacy

NEW AI TEXT RECOGNITION: Higher speed reading improves scanning and supports more fonts, voices, and languages than ever before Aside from everything else C-Pen Reader also features a microphone (and of course speaker and headphones connector) allowing you to record audio. Like voice memos. The audio files are saved in the device, can be retrieved and listened to any time. You can also upload the audio files to your computer. It’s convenient! New AI text recognition - Higher speed reading improves scanning and supports more font, voices, and languages than ever before

Compatible software

I love that you can actually see the relief on the user’s face the first time they use it correctly. They listen to the dictation of the words and look up excitedly! That’s the look of excitement we’re all looking for as educators. A student who has a hard time reading the questions can hardly be expected to be able to provide proper answers. Exam Reader 2 assists the students to read the questions but offers no help with the answers. Using Exam Reader 2 with earphones enables these students to be in the same room as their piers when taking the test, saving school resources. Exciting Exam Reader 2 features This is an empowering tool for learners with dyslexia, so I think it’s worth the money. However, it’s best for people 10 years of age or older as it requires a steady and patient hand. Record Voice MemosThe built-in microphone allows you to easily record audio, such as voice memos, meetings or lectures. The audio files are then saved in the device so they can be retrieved and listened to any time. You can also upload the audio files to your computer, giving you added convenience.
