Below you can see these side by side, with a crop from each taking a closer look at the rendering of the specular highlights.

If you’re interested in test charts (which I never look at, because they can be unreliable much of the time and don’t always reflect field use) there are sites for that as well. With a minimum focus distance of just 70cm at all focal lengths, a dedicated Fn button, manual focus clutch and a sliding, protective lens hood, the new 40-150mm f/2.I'm no expert lens reviewer by any imagination and won't be posting shots of newspaper (though I've done that comparison and my real world shooting has confirmed it). I didn't match ISOs and it's probably not a perfect test, but I think it provides some insight and could help someone make that decision for themselves. Excellent – The equipment should be close to being ‘Like New’ but there may be some small cosmetic blemishes that lower its grade. To achieve compact, lightweight lens with optical performance exceeding that of the heretofore highly regarded Four Thirds System standard Super High Grade (SHG) lens, the lens employs such glass materials as the Super ED lenses, the ED or HD lens*2 as well as of EDA*3 and other aspherical lenses.

When I go out shooting and take a small bag w/ two cameras, I almost always take the 50-150 on my EM1-II and a 24-105 on my Sony A9. The direct debit payments will commence at the end of the first month following receipt of your goods. The autofocus slows down slightly in very dim light indoors, but not to the extent where it would bother you.As well as superior optics and performance, the Pro tag denotes high quality construction with an all metal body that is dust, splash and freeze-proof. Clifton Cameras is a credit broker, not a lender and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN728300). I had the camera and lens combo dangling around my body all day and I wasn’t particularly aware of the weight, nor did I grow tired whilst using it. Another nice touch: the lens does not change length while zooming, nor do the front focus rings twist while zooming or focusing. That focus ring has a trick up its sleeve: pull it back towards the camera body and you leave autofocus and enter manual focus, complete with a marked focus indicator.

One aspherical ED (extra-low dispersion) element, two aspherical elements, one Super ED element, three ED elements, and one HD element are featured within the optical design to minimize both spherical and chromatic aberrations, distortion, and color fringing throughout the zoom range while also contributing to overall image sharpness, clarity, and color accuracy. focal ratio on both lenses means they’ll share the same exposures, their relative depth-of-field is quite different, with the Olympus lens actually being equivalent to a 80-300mm f5.So if you have both of these lenses you’ve got the field covered from a 24mm wide angle up to a 300mm telephoto with a constant f2. Another word about sharpness – there is more to it than a fabulous lens, just be aware of that when making your appraisals. The lens balances very well indeed, even on my little EM10 (which I use with the small accessory grip).
