Trying out the C27G2ZU, I connected the monitor to the test bench, which consisted of an Intel Core i7-10700K CPU, NVIDIA RTX 2060 SUPER GPU, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, using the GIGABYTE Z490 AORUS ULTRA motherboard. There's been a lot of dubious talk over recent months about how 240Hz gaming monitors are the best gaming monitors you can buy because they can make you better at games, but having played several rounds of Valorant on the C27C2ZU, I can confirm that I'm still as terrible at it as I was on a normal 60Hz monitor. Importantly, the refresh rate is not only high, it’s also variable – a must-have feature for gaming really. The adaptive-sync range of 48-240Hz is easily wide enough to ensure Low Framerate Compensation (LFC) can be used, so screen tearing should be eliminated even if your frame rate is below 48fps. With these credentials, the screen qualifies as FreeSync Premium in AMD terminology, and although it isn’t listed in Nvidia’s G-Sync database, AOC has confirmed it is compatible with Nvidia G-Sync cards as well.
