Another weirder type is Ring Modulation, which we explain in depth in our Best Ring Modulator Pedals article. Powered by a powerful Sharc DSP that’s allowing it to age well (it was released in 2013), it has robust editing features for its 12 types of modulation, which range from your regular Chorus, Flanger, Vibe, and Phaser to more mysterious modes such as Formant, Quadrature, and Destroyer. In the middle of the panel, a 3-position toggle switch is used for choosing the sequence of the two effects’ output. Each channel features 9 effects, you can adjust various tones with the independent Tap Tempo control.

Now you can buy Joyo products even cheaper! Only within the last 90 days we have lowered the prices of 14 Joyo products. It really becomes super cheap with our set offers and Creative Bundles in which further discounts are included. All modulation effects feature controls for depth (basically a clean vs. wet blend) and speed (controlling the speed of the LFO). Types of LFOs: The Mobius, just like the other pedals by Strymon, is not just a stompbox that gives you a ton of lush and creative options when plugged into your guitar, but a truly studio-grade stereo effect processor that can be used on any instrument and even in a mix. Each mode has different voices with tonal color simulating different eras of that same effect type, including analog and digital versions of it.

What also makes this pedal unique is how easy it is to use, most other multieffect/mod-pedals I've seen are neither convenient nor intuitive, but this one is super-easy to learn and use. To me, using knobs is much better than trying to navigate via a LED/digital-screen. Two modes house the 18 effects that the Vision can produce, with each mode sporting Speed/Rate, Control and Depth/Mix controls. Each side’s footswitch doubles as a Tap Tempo switch, letting you seamlessly sync the modulation with whatever music you’re creating. Here are the effects you have to choose from: So as a tool for finding experimental sounds, this is a really cool pedal. As an ambient/experimental guitarist, this pedal was a great find. You can also choose the direction, like an Octave effect going into a Chorus effect then out, or Octave+Chorus together then out.

Less orthodox effects like the low-bit setting produce synthetic delights that sound a bit like a harpsichord patch on an old Casio synth and can be mangled into 8-bit Nintendo glitchiness with alterations to rate and depth and guitar tone. Route the low-bit effect into the ring modulator and you get eerie, low-fi, and paranoid textures fit for a Twilight Zone score. You can dial in these compound effects settings to a point where guitar tone is all but indiscernible—especially with the depth/mix controls maxed out. Even at these settings, though, there’s still room to dial in more clarity or chaos with the series/parallel option. It has stereo I/O, MIDI capability, and expression pedal in, and its stereo in/outs can be used for a mono FX loop operation. Depending on what parameter is affected by the LFO, a different kind of modulating effect will result. Here’s a list of the various types of modulation with links to audio examples with a clean guitar tone:

Best Multi-Modulation Pedals with Dual Engine

There are 200 presets that allow full customization through five knobs, with set functions for Speed, Depth, and Level plus two “Param” knobs whose function can be assigned to your favorite other parameters. An extra knob, named Value, allows for display navigation and other functions. We currently list 69 Joyo products 58 of them are available for immediate dispatch . Joyo has been a part of our range since 2016. Joyo Audio are known for their inexpensive effects, and their product catalog is overflowing with affordable alternatives to classic and newfangled stompboxes. Impressively, many of these offerings are fairly comprehensive multi-effects. The new Vision is one of them, and it’s a treasure trove of tremolo, chorus, flange, and phase, and more radical modulation machines. Route the low-bit effect into the ring modulator and you get eerie, low-fi, and paranoid textures fit for a Twilight Zone score.
