On 30 April 2022, Dave Gorman announced another live stage show tour called PowerPoint to the People for autumn 2022. [31] It runs from 10 September to 11 November 2022. Extra dates were later added, running from 16 March 2023 until 17 June 2023. [32] The tour was extended again up to 13 December 2023. [33] Other appearances [ edit ] You might think ‘Powerpoint, er, bit geeky and boring’ because you’ve seen people use it for boring reasons in business meetings and you’ve also seen people use microphones for boring reasons, but you’ve never once in your life thought ‘I don’t want to see a bloke with a microphone as microphones are really boring.

So a bet was tabled; Dave saying that there were 'loads' of Dave Gormans in the world, with Danny calling his bluff, and indeed, five hours later, cold, hungover and Ł170 down, Dave and Danny were on a train to Scotland to meet the Dave Gorman of East Fife Football Club. When it came to what inspired him as a comedian, Dave said he loved the freedom and making people laugh about things they didn’t think were funny, with his form of comedy making people think and, in terms of playing Dudley, he was also looking forward to that feeling of home, being just down the road from Stafford.

There’s such a big gap between when you do the tasks and when you sit in the studio, spending 10 days in that house and doing stuff, then you’re in the studio months later as they have to edit it and construct their stories and work out which ones they’re going to use, as some tasks don’t make it.

Gorman joins Absolute Radio". Radio Today. 5 August 2012. Archived from the original on 3 April 2017 . Retrieved 2 April 2017. Before his solo successes, he was in demand as a writer, having co-written three series of The Mrs Merton Show, as well as writing for many other television series in the UK, including The Fast Show. In 2003, he was listed in The Observer as one of the 50 funniest acts in British comedy. [5] As a producer, Gorman contributed to two series featuring Jenny Eclair. He has also written for comedians Harry Hill and Steve Coogan. He said: “I’m going to play a theatre where 1,000 people want to see me and the good thing about Dudley for me it that, depending on the rest of the tour schedule, I might get to pop in and see my mum as well, which is like an added bonus. Although it may seem confusing to have two sides of the same story in one book, it surprises with clarity. Imagine a conversation over a pub lunch with two guys about their latest exploits, one remembering it slightly differently to the other; it is rather similar to that. Dave's optimism and relentless drive is effectively counterpointed by Danny's dry wit and sardonic observation of the ridiculousness of the whole affair. Even now as a 52-year-old, living on the South Coast with his wife Beth and child Eric, Dave said he can tell stories to Eric and feel like it happened to someone else.In a previous talk, I did a routine where I showed you the British advert, then the Polish version, Canadian version and German version, all filmed on the same set, but with different actors, all using the same technique and I’d show 10 second clips of these things and the audience would be laughing. Gorman was a regular guest on The Geoff Show, having been on a guest on the show three times (and also entering a phone-in competition whilst undertaking the Important Astrology Experiment), while he also had weekly interviews on Geoff Lloyd's Hometime Show to discuss his bikeathon during his Sit Down, Pedal, Pedal, Stop and Stand Up Tour. He filled in for weekend presenter Frank Skinner for three weeks during the summer of 2009. The station subsequently announced that he would have a full-time show; his first show aired on 11 October, [19] with Gorman joined by Danielle Ward and Martin White. White left the show in April 2012, to be replaced by Michael Legge. The show ended on 18 November 2012. [20] Stand-up [ edit ] Stephenson, John-Paul (18 November 2012). It is on the better side of unabashed 90s fun and, most impressively, features a successful dual narrator format which doesn't feel at all gratuitous.

In addition to the books and stage shows, Dave has also toured extensively across the world, including stints on Broadway in New York, presented several television shows, such as Modern Life is Goodish and Genius, and been on panel shows such as Have I Got News for You, QI, Go 8 Bit and Taskmaster, a show he described as really fun to do. In 2020, Gorman began setting cryptic crosswords for three British newspapers, first to The Independent under the pseudonym "Bluth" [36] then to The Daily Telegraph under the name "Django" and to The Guardian under the name "Fed". As the artistic director of Dance United Yorkshire, Helen works on dance projects with disadvantaged community groups, watching people grow in confidence through the power of movement.
