Secondary Care

The Secondary Care Unit provides clients with an opportunity to build on the foundations of recovery achieved, for the most part, from treatment received in a Primary Care setting. The programme in Secondary Care aims to help clients to develop a stronger relationship with their recovery and learn social and life skills.

Secondary Care clients are provided with a programme consisting of:

• Individual therapy
• Group therapy
• Art therapy
• Therapeutic and educational workshops
• Relapse prevention
• Recovery issues specific to needs
• Support with exploring rehabilitation options

We hope that by the end of their treatment in Secondary Care clients will have:
• Established an active participation in the 12 Step programme
• Acquired greater confidence and self-worth
• Grown in awareness of their self defeating patterns of behaviour
• Addressed issues that have been triggers for relapse in the past
• Developed skills for dealing with situations that might put their recovery at risk
• Discovered ways to have fun and relax in recovery
